## Description

3/8" Drive Split-Beam Flex Ratchet Click Wrench, 20-100 lb.ft. Split-Beam Click Wrenches overcome many of the problems associated with micrometer-style clock wrenches in abusive environments. The wrench has few components, and all critical parts are welded together at assembly. There is no need to work in a C series torque wrench before using it the first time. Nor is it necessary to adjust to the lowest torque setting after use. Setting the tool requires only fingertip force since the adjustment mechanism is not under load C2FR100F

Review: Well constructed, solid, easy to use, minimal worries about losing calibration - As a home mechanic that (thankfully) isn't always under the hood of my car, I wanted a quality torque wrench that was accurate and didn't lose it's calibration quickly over time. The impetus for buying one was making sure that I did the brakes accurately on my wife's car... I have a larger 1/2 drive torque wrench for 50-250 ft/lbs but didn't have anything that wend down to 20 ft/lbs. I didn't want the brakes to fail for miscalibrated bolt tightening, leading to a fire-y death of my wife and kids. Given that I would expect to use this tool maybe once every couple months or less, I really didn't want to deal with the spring type of torque wrench that can lose its calibration over time and didn't want to deal with having to send it in for re-calibration. Thus, this split beam torque wrench. The 3/8 drive with the range of 20-100 ft/lbs worked great for the caliper pins and is also useful for making sure that the bolts for the differential and transfer case are to the right spec. The smaller length is great for when i'm under the car and there's not a lot of room to use the 1/2 drive torque wrench. I've also started using this for my oil drain plug instead of using the ol' elbow calibration, and I was surprised to find that I was severely over torquing the plug... which could have led to deforming the oil pan and ending up with leaks or whatever terrible things can happen by over-torque. I've been doing oil changes on my car since my dad taught me when I was a teenager, and have never used a torque wrench in 30 years, but now that I've started using it, I'll probably never go back to "elbow calibration". The torque settings are easy to use, easy to read, and the wrench makes a loud audible click and also has excellent tactile feedback when you reach your setting. The case is nice, and really the best part is that I don't really have to worry about this thing going out of calibration. Very happy with this wrench. I wish I had bought it sooner.
Review: Impressed with performance - I use a torque wrench all day long at work and have been studying up on precision instruments. After reading reviews I ordered one and I am really liking it so far. Bonus...it weighs half of my favorite current clicker which is important when some machines require 30+ torque applications. Makes a good, distinctive, click and seems pretty much dead on in calibration. There is no reverse, it does ratchet, and the head only swivels about 15 degrees just so you know. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great quality, accurate, and reasonably priced torque wrench. I will leave an update to this review after I have used it for 6 months or so.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Split Beam Torque Wrench styles should be more popular!
*by A***G on March 22, 2017*

I was in the market for a new torque wrench (tw) when i accidently left my husky 10-100lbft wounded for 3-4 months. I never really liked the cheap feeling of the husky, so I figured it was a good excuse to find a nicer micrometer and have looked at a variety of tw's, including CDI, Eastwood, Kobolt, PI, and Tekton. Eventually narrowed it down to PI 10-100 Split Beam and a CDI Click-style micrometer but finally chose the PI because it was something different. Considering what happened with the husky, figured this tw would be helpful since you don't have to return it to Zero all the time. I was not disappointed! Setting the torque was super easy and quick. The numbers on my dial are black on a white background and the graduations were marked every 2 lbfts, so getting to my specified torque was quick and simple. The flex head came in real handy, helping me get around my fenders. The click was VERY audible! it's different than my husky, and doesnt bounce backwards after a click. There's not any cons I can think of. I do know people complaining about a missing endcap, but that seems to be the style. I took a look down it, there's a rubber plug down the handle - so in a way, it has plug so you should be ok. It's also much lighter than my old husky TW, and has a higher quality feel/construction. I also have a digital TW for backup, but i prefer mechanical TW's because for me its just nicer to hear/feel when you reach your torque; i couldnt stand the beeps. The case it comes in - nothing out of the ordinary, looks and feels like most plastic cases tw's come in from big hardware stores. Comes with certification card showing serial number and +/-4% - but i do wish they had included the tested torque values. Beyond that, this tw ROCKS, why isn't it more popular? Can't wait to start using it more.
