Review: Killer Record - By this time in the world of Accept, the power struggle reached it's initial stages. On one side you had guitarist Wolf Hoffman and Bassist Peter Baltes along with new Producer Dieter Dierks who were trying to push the band into a more commercial direction and on the other side Lead Singer Udo Dirkschneider and drummer Stefan Kauffman who wanted to keep things more aggressive and the returning Jorg Fisher who was now caught in the middle. Even with the battle lines drawn, the results were still one of the best Metal albums of the decade. Kicking off with the epic title track, "Metal Heart" charges out of the gate with doom-laden sitars and chugging guitars over a pounding drumbeat. Next up is the more commercial sounding "Midnight Mover" which I feel is an underrated classic with a big chorus before going back to the more aggressive "Up To The Limit" and "Wrong is Right" before coming into the lost gem of the record with "Screaming For a Love Bite". Terrible title I know but MAN what a riff and such a great big chorus. I remember picking this up for the first time at the old Backstreet Records in Indiana, PA around 2004 and cranking this as loud as I could. The second side is a bit weaker, but I'd hardly call it a drawback. The first side was just so good so what you have here leftover is still really good music, specifically the groove on "Too High To Get It Right". This reissue throws in some bonus live cuts as well which flow rather nicely with the rest of the record. Arguably the last "Great" Accept record until the arrival of Mark Tornillo in 2009, this is a MUST-OWN for all headbangers everywhere. Review: Accept's Band's Sixth Studio Album And One Of The Best - A great Metal album by a German 1980's metal band called Accept, In case your wondering, the metal genre of music is basically, vary hard rock music. Anyway this is an outstanding album by the band Accept that came out in (1985) Is is not their first album, but one of the most successful mainstream seller in the 1980's for this band. This is a great choice for 1980's metal. I highly recommend this album to any metal/(vary hard rock) fan or liker This album has metal type of music all the way through it, with few to no lighter rock moments. It also has fantastic electric guitar and bass as well as drums and great vocals that sound similar to Brian Johnson's voice from AC/DC band. Beware, it isn't as heavy as Balls To The Wall or fast as Restless And Wild, but Metal Heart is a classic in its own right. The title track doesn't disappoint. Hoffman's solo is amazing on this one, still one of the most underrated guitarists in metal. "Midnight Mover" a shot at mainstream metal at the time. It is still a good track just doesn't pack the same punch as the previous track and the next one. "Up To The Limit" is energetic and just downright fun and catchy to listen to. The beat is great. "Wrong Is Right" catchy riff, Udo screaming! What isn't to love about this track!? "Screaming For A Love Bite" Honestly, I hate love songs, ballads, dumb chorus shouts about love and all, but I LOVE THIS TRACK! "Too High To Get It Right" A good heavy metal song. Nothing really technical or too impressive on this track. But the next track is beyond great. "Dogs On Leads" The highest moment on the album. Udo softly speaks his verses. Then BOOM!! Hoffman comes in. Kaufmann adds power with the drums! And the chorus is powerful. A great track and one of their best songs ever. "Teach Us To Survive" Reminds me of James Bond every time I hear the opening. I don't know what to make of the lyrics really. "Living For Tonight" Another shot at radio play, but honestly has some nice guitar work from Mr. Hoffman yet again. Udo's vocals sound as gritty as ever on this one. "Bound To Fail" Right from the start SOLO! A great track to close this classic heavy metal album. With Metal Heart, you might be Bound To Fail.
