Was told to get these and so far they haven’t been great. Temps have been inconsistent. I’ve tried them over the course of many cooks, and I’ll be tossing them. Tried to verify temps using ice water and boiling water, set the temp into the PID controller on my rec-tec, and then repeated the process to verify their still holding, and I get different results by 5-10 degrees. Would recommend staying with the stock probes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Did not work like some reviews stated *by W***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2019* I used these on my Rec Tec Stampede and they are off. I know this because I used my Classic Thermapen plus I decided to trust Rec Tec Temperature Probes and my Boston Butt was not tender enough to pull the bone out should have gone with what the Thermapen was telling me....not done !!! I will now have to go into the settings on the grill to offset the difference so the probes will be right. Hopefully that will solve that problem only hope they hold up after a great deal of use, I think they will as they look to be made much better than the ones that came with the grill. I gave them four stars because in the reviews I read they work spot on right out of the packaging. The other reason is that one of the probes I have to twist in the socket to get it to work. Not sure if that is the probe or the grills problem. But the probes that came with the grill I don't have to twist. ### ⭐⭐ not accurate *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2021* saw some folks on various boards recommend so I tried these. Bought three, went back to the RecTeq versions. These are just not accurate and often when I plug them in will show crazy high numbers, unplug and they may read correctly. Almost always read different than the instaread.Ultimately, the OE versions are better for me. Just plug them in and they work. Nothing worse than overcooking a steak or something because the temp you think you have is not accruate.
