Tri - is more triangular in shape. The D is a more comfy fit for me with the rounded side. Whereas the angular shape of the Tri doesn't fit my face as comfortably. **Q: How do you wash it?** A: If there is a stain of some kind, you can "spot-wash" with a cloth. I mix a little soap and water and wet the cloth and scrub gently. I give the entire pillow a spray of Lysol (or other disinfectant) each time I change the linen. If there is another way to wash these types of pillows, I'm unfamiliar with it.
