Primarily for the 2 year old though. He loves it and even though he doesn't get the electronic part if this toy, the driving part is what I wanted for him. Figure the 6 year old can also play with it and understand the screen options. My daughter-in-law said it was a big hit at Christmas! **Q: Can you control the volume of this toy? Or is the family gonna be driven mad with the noise? We also have a newborn. Thank you!** A: I'm not sure if there is a volume control but we hardly noticed the sound. **Q: The screen is extremely dark and very difficult to see the streets, etc. Is the screen suppose to light up?** A: No.. it won’t light up **Q: what age is it for** A: 3-6 is the recommended age. When I do see him playing with it he seems to really dig it so it's pretty cool. I like that it has the learning aspects mixed in with the driving aspect and the driving games are simplified to his level is also cool. 1 thing I would've liked to see is if this were in color. The simplistic LCD is fine imo but it needs color. I think today's little ones, with access to tablets, parents/uncle's cell phones, etc. are kind of conditioned to expect color objects and maybe the black and white is a bit 'disinteresting'. Not sure so won't take a star off but if vtech is reading these reviews I think they should consider it.
