Review: Good tone, good fit, good value but do your homework first - Needed new strings for my inexpensive but serviceable Ibanez acoustic, and because I had previously filed down a top nut slot too far, I decided to replace with one better than plastic. After seeing how many reviewers were happy with bone material, I ordered this 4 piece set with the bridge sadddes. I installed both nut and saddle and they have improved the guitar's sound, which I guess is the bottom line. The sound is louder, perhaps with a warmer tone due to more body resonance from better string contact with the body/neck. Intonation up the neck is as good or better than before probably due to the compensated saddle. You will need a good file or two for this or any set up job. Take my advice and compare the height of your original saddle and top nut to these before you install- in my case, these bones were over 1 MM too high so I took the time to file evenly across the bottom edge using a straight coarse file (80 grit sandpaper block is good too if you have that). Without filing the bottom you will get a workout filing down deep slots in this bone material, and deep slots will look like a hack job. At least the nut was very close in width than my original plastic one, so no filing was needed there; but the bridge saddle was about 1 or 2 MM short in width (better too narrow than too wide), and was an extremely tight fit into the bridge cutout (again, I used my file so it fit in the cutout without too much effort). Rated 5 stars because the set is cheap, material is solid, sounds good and is easy to work with. I'd highly recommend watching a few web video tutorials on replacing saddles and top nuts as well as adjusting truss rod and intonation (which go hand in hand with this project).
Review: Perfect solution for the terrible piezo sound of the previous bridge saddle - I've only just installed the bridge saddle, I haven't yet installed the nut, so my rating is for only the bridge saddle. I have an inexpensive chinese-made acoustic, (Kona), which is a surprisingly good guitar for the price, in terms of materials, fit, and finish. The tone was also okay, when played acoustically. It also has a piezo bridge saddle pickup, which, unfortunately, sounded awful. The loudness of the E and B treble strings completely swamped out the other strings; the guitar was unplayable "plugged in". In a rare instance of it turning out to be good luck that a part on a guitar failed, the G string split/crushed the weak plastic saddle, so I replaced it with this bone saddle. In terms of dimensions, the replacement saddle was almost perfect. Replacement task was relatively easy, I only had to carefully file some string notches and sand about .020" off the bottom of the new saddle. The improvement in acoustic sound was noticeable, but not drastic. I would call it more balanced, also a little less bright. But the improvement in sound when listening to it plugged in was yuuge. The loudness balance among the strings is almost perfect. It didn't turn my $120 guitar into a $1200 guitar, but now it's playable plugged in, and I consider the bridge alone worth the cost of this desertcart item, because it so profoundly improved the piezo sound. I did a side-by-side dimensions comparison of the new bone nut with the one on my guitar, and it seems almost a perfect twin, but since I haven't yet installed it, I have only one other comment on the nut. Considering how much better the guitar sounds with the bone bridge saddle installed, I suspect the nut will improve the sound an imperceptible amount, (on chords with open strings only). Keep in mind that depending on your guitar, changing the nut can be risky, because it may be difficult to change it without damaging the guitar's finish. That is why I deferred installing the nut, I'm just not compelled to at this time. But if the nut on the guitar is ever damaged, I now have a spare.

## Features

- Made of real cattle bone, which can offer a greater tone than plastic. Used for a Right-Handed guitar.
- Package includes 2 pcs nut and 2 pcs saddle.
- Bone saddle size: Overall length: 72 mm/2.8 in. Top height: 7 mm/0.27 in. Tail height: 8 mm / 0.31 in. Width: 2.8 mm / 0.11 in. Bone nut size: Overall length: 43 mm/1.69 in. Top width: 8.8 mm/0.34 in. Tail width: 8.2 mm/0.32 in, height 5.9 mm/0.23 in.
- Many luthiers and guitar manufacturers prefer bone guitar nuts for their instruments. The bone we offer is oxen bone from China. This bone has minimal porosity and a great appearance. Its density and minimal porosity are features that yield good intonation and clarity.
- Note: Due to the different workmanship of the guitars, the sizes of the accessories are not uniform. This string pin will work with most guitars on the market, but is not ensured to fit every guitar. Please read the product dimensions carefully before purchasing to ensure that our product is in accordance with your needs.
