Incase you forget it’s on as I have a sleep problem. Thanks** A: Hi, we have very recently replaced our very old George Foreman grill with this Tefal unit. The george Foreman switched off after the required time had been set, the Tefal unit doesn't quite work like this but we really do like this machine, it really is rather clever. However after cooking should you accidentally leave the machine on it will switch off, the booklet advises around 30 minutes. Again a point to note it wont be at full heat as the unit also has a cooling feature to keep food warm if used. Clever old Tefal. If you have ever used a similar grill with non removable plates, you will know how annoying they are to clean. Electrical components and a thorough scrub do not tend to go well together!With the Optigrill, you just pop the plates out and give them a rinse in the sink or stick them in the dishwasher. The included drain tray is also dishwasher proof and does a great job of catching drips so there isn't anything else to clean!The grill heats quickly and has cooked all food to perfection so far. Steaks were beautifully seared on the outside and rare on the inside, just as I wanted. Peppers came out nicely charred and delicious. Burgers stayed juicy.The digital display is foolproof with a countdown to your desired level of doneness and you get a little recipe book included to help you get started.The defrost and searing functions are very handy to tailor the auto programmes. I was nervous about cooking from frozen but it worked!I bought this while on offer for £134 and am very pleased I did. It replaces the need for using the grill, sandwich toaster and griddle so has a relatively small kitchen footprint. I had tefal grill before, but older version and was pretty glad about the quality. These one we bought as we lost our old grill and we not regret at all! Try to make beef steak medium rare- better than any restaurant! And taste good even on next day ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Briliant grilling machine *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 9 October 2020* This grill is a nice modern looking grill. I have made a cheese and ham sandwich, I let the sandwich grill to its higher setting, but next time will take it off the grill just before it clicks over to the hottest setting, all the cheese had melted, the bread evenly toasted, I didn't cover the outside of the bread with butter and was pleased with the crusty result. Next cooked a piece of steak to it's hottest setting but did not use the searing setting, the steak was nicely marked on both sides and was cooked to my liking, no blood running out of the steak, the steak was really tender. Then I cooked a pork steak, cooked it on the beef setting as there is no actual pork setting, but after reading about the grill, you can cook pork on the sausage setting, again the pork was nicely marked, was well cooked and surprisingly soft. Then cooked some sea bass, cooked it through to the end on the hottest setting, the fish was nicely cooked and was juicy not dry. There is no setting for lamb either, you can either cook lamb on the sausage or beef settings. The two plates are easily removed and really pleased at how effortlessly it is to clean them, the drip tray is solid plastic and cleans up with no effort.
