It has a matt appearance. It not only looks but also runs like a quality product. Two things not mentioned in description are that there is a rhythm mode and a change mode in which the light color changes automatically in party mode for the first and slowly for the second mode. This was a surprise. The actual colors are vibrant and attractive more than the photo. The speaker sound is also loud and clear. Overall, it can be a good gift item also.
