## Description

Product Description V/H/S is a POV, found-footage horror film from the perspective of America's top genre filmmakers. In V/H/S, a group of misfits are hired by an unknown third party to burglarize a desolate house in the countryside and acquire a rare tape. Upon searching the house, the guys are confronted with a dead body, a hub of old televisions and an endless supply of cryptic footage, each video stranger and more inexplicable than the last... desertcart.com Few cinematic innovations have flamed out as rapidly as the found-footage horror film, with the genuine high points (The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity, [REC]) quickly drowned out by scads of imitators mainly intent on cutting their budgets by ditching the tripods. Boasting an impressive assortment of low-budget creative talent, the unusually overt first-person compilation V/H/S avoids the majority of the genre's duplication errors, cannily utilizing the anthology format to quickly get to the good stuff. Director Adam Wingard (You're Next) gets things rolling with a framing device involving a home-invasion crew discovering a cache of mysterious videotapes, segueing into the five other vignettes. David Bruckner, one of the three filmmakers behind The Signal, brings a primo EC Comics feel to his segment, a cautionary hookup tale for the reality-TV generation. Next up is slow-burn specialist Ti West (House of the Devil), who contributes a romantic travelogue gone extremely wrong, with an ironic resolution that might have even jaded gorehounds wincing a bit. Glenn McQuaid, whose previous film I Sell the Dead sported a sly gallows humor, unfortunately follows with the only real dud of the bunch, a spoofy maniac-in-the-woods effort that boasts a cool monster, but little else that resonates. Thankfully, director Joe Swanberg (Hannah Takes the Stairs) gets things back on the good foot with his ingeniously low-tech segment, a haunted apartment saga told entirely via Skype. Effective as the majority of its parts are, though, V/H/S ultimately proves to be saving its best for last, via a writing/directing collective known as Radio Silence, who deliver a Halloween story that goes wonderfully for broke. Packing creaks and groans into its scant running time at a rate that shames most modern creature features, it serves as an outstanding example of both the high and low registers of the genre. While found footage may not be the future of horror as was once proclaimed, this combo pack shows that there's still some life in them bones. --Andrew Wright

Review: Awesome movie - I really like the film style. They made it look like the whole thing was filmed on camcorders and the stories were laid out to appear like typical video-diaries, bringing suspense for when the "horror movie" will come into play. You really have no idea what the story will bring when going in blindly with no spoilers. I've never seen a horror movie quite like this one and I'll watch the others next. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes action and suspense movies. Also, the makeup and gore looks really well done. They did a really good job on this. I'd expect as much from the director who also worked on the newer Scream movies.
Review: V/H/S - In 2012, who knew that the found footage horror hit "V/H/S" would become a long-running, and highly successful franchise! I'm not here to write a specific film review on this, I'm just here to say that I ordered the DVD copy of this film to add to my horror collection and I'm beyond happy to finally have this little gem in my collection!! Sophisticated, creative, believable, and good scary, bloody fun! I can't wait to start collecting the sequels on DVD as well. This is a great product for any collector/horror fan! Get it now before they no longer make prints of this film!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Honest Review

This film was very different from start to finish. It's not your everyday mainstream movie, it's got some extreme scenes, a lot of little scares and some mysteries. It's an independent..."POV, found footage" horror type of film, not many of us have seen movies like this one before but I tell you what, if your a true horror fan and are constantly on the look out for something exciting and fresh from new minds then this is right for you. Now, I'll admit like the rest of you the execution wasn't the best, but the themes and setting of the film make up for it, "does it deserve a 4 and not a 5 Chris?" Well I don't know I was hesitant on the 4 because I can feel that the directors really did there best and in my opinion it's a 5. "But Chris what about all those people who said it blew and not to waste you money?" Well.. to my fellow Amazonians who rated this below a 4 you are ignorant and don't understand the genre of horror, and I say to you.... Make Something Better... Chris S/D
