They were so worth the risk. They are comfortable. They are waterproof. They have a tread to prevent slipping on wet surfaces. I bought them for a trip to Ireland where waterproof boots are a must-have and got them a couple months ahead of time to break them in. The top of the boot hits around my ankle. The suede is soft and pliable so my ankle has never had to endure breaking in stiff material and feeling bruised by these boots, The heel is a great height for me, not too tall, but not frumpy and low, and the zips are on both sides, offering a convenience I never expected, but also a pretty braided tassel on the outer side. I wear them with black skirts, jeans, black trousers, you name it and they're fine. I bought a brush for suede and keep them looking good with occasional brushing. They've been through gravel, fields of deep wet grass, long walks down tiled corridors, streets, and they've been comfortable and dry and come away looking good. I am happy with this purchase.Update! I bought my boots in late May and today is October 1. What’s that? 4 months? Today the sole of the right boot came loose. WTF? Really? And the time during which they could be returned ended in mid June. I rescind my 5-star review. These were too expensive to have the sole fall aooso soon. ### ⭐ Awesome boots that fell apart after 5 weeks *by J***R on October 29, 2018* I loved this boot. Cute, comfortable even with bunions, and just as waterproof as promised. But after wearing for one month + 7 days, the sole started falling off. Like another reviewer who reported this, my return window is closed (as of 7 days ago), so I'm SOL and upset. Paid way too much for shoes that would only last five weeks.
