They shut themselves off but won't come back on. Once installed, the bulbs turned on immediately. I then jumped to the conclusion that these bulbs were not worth a penny. I went to a hardware store and bought another dusk to dawn bulb. This bulb did not turn on when I tested it in the living room. It was still daylight time. After a day or two, I had second thoughts. With so many positive reviews, these bulbs can’t be that bad. So I took the lamp to the backyard. Attached the bulbs. Indeed both bulbs turned on immediately. Then both bulbs turned itself off, as the ambient light in the backyard was very bright. I guess the bulbs were designed to first sense the surroundings before activating the dusk to dawn circuit.
