Are these good at preventing infestations?** A: If bedbugs come in on rugs this would help keep them at bay. However, it is delaying not preventing. Most come in on suitcases on the bed from some infested area and they migrate to bedding and from there to walls. Once this happens only heating the room to 130+ fora day or so will kill them. **Q: I just bought these and I see know talc powder on any of these. I am really confused. Do I need to add my own? It just looks like a plastic dish.** A: The manufacturer made a change about a year ago to remove the talc as they went to a more smooth polished interior plastic that the bugs can't climb up. You can add talc on your own for extra protection but it is no longer required. **Q: There were no instructions in box, now what????** A: Hey Linda, These were extremely easy to use, just make sure the leg of the bed rests in the inner circle, the bugs get trapped in that outer ridge. The only other instructions was that after some time the talk powder used to lubricate (and create slippage) blows away and has to be replaced. **Q: can bedbugs crawl back up your bed once landing in the climb up bedbug trap** A: What's to prevent bugs which climb down the leg from the bed into the center well from climbing back up the leg and onto the bed again if they can't climb over the center well's inner wall and fall into the outer well where they are now trapped. Yes, trapped in the outer well both coming and going. Wouldn't a solution be to roughen / texture the inside surface wall of the center well so the bugs would be allowed / encouraged to continue their journey up and over the center well wall to fall into the outer well where they are now trapped by slippery walls on both sides.
