The toast comes out perfectly and it is so easy to operate. The color is also fabulous!! If you don't mind spending a few extra bucks, it is well worth the investment. The only thing is that the slices of bread to not fit and they stick out of the top. I guess it all depends on what bread you are toasting. If you have the standard white bread then I would think it would fit and toast perfectly. I use rye bread and the slices tend to be larger. Also, you have to toast a few slices before you get to where you want the adjustment. I first put it in the middle and it toasted very dark. But that is an easy thing to adjust. We started to have problems with it almost immediately where it would not heat both sides of the bread on a consistent basis (sometimes yes...sometimes no). Now, in less than 2 years, it heats up to to a very low degree and we are left with warm soft bread instead of toast.
