In an outdoor setting, at least a city block away, I’ve been able to start the car with the remote. Starting the car from just inside the house is no problem at all. Good product and reliable!!! **Q: How long is the wire? Also wheres the best place to mount the antenna?** A: The wire is atleast 6ft I mounted mine behind my rearview mirror just stuck the antenna to the glass with the double sided tape that comes with it **Q: Does this works with start x remote starts?** A: Yes it does but the direction on how to program the Start X with this RF kit was not included with the RF Kit or with the Start X kit. I emailed the Start X customer service and they were able to email it to me.
