It will NOT light a tissue into fire. Unless tissue or cotton is soak with alcohol. **Q: what is the diameter of the tip? I'm trying to determine if it would fit between the grill grates of my outdoor gas grill.** A: Tip appears to be exactly 1 centimeter, easiest to read on my dual scale tape measure. That works out to about 25/64" in inches, hard to read on most rulers! **Q: Can you bring this on an airplane?** A: I doubt it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars 5 stars using lithium AA battery *by R***C on Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2016* This rapidly sparking concept is great for lighting gas appliances and superior to hard to light hard to pull iffy BBQ type lighters.However, using the included alkaline AA battery (tested 1.4v) even though it sparked it would not reliably light my propane tank top heater. However I replaced the battery with a new lithium AA (tested 1.8v) and it works perfectly every time. No child guard (thank you) and the trigger is effortless to produce rapid repeating spark. 5 stars with lithium battery. Lithium batteries are more powerful, longer lasting and best for outdoor cold temps so not a problem as I planned to use one anyway. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good but too big to light Coleman lanterns *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2016* This igniter does as described in that it does give a continuous spark. It works great for lighting my Coleman camp stove, however it will not fit inside of a Coleman lantern match hole. You will need to use long stick matches. And on top of this it only worked for a short time before the sparking just stopped all together.
