Underworld Evolution

Kate Beckinsale is really hot in the role that she was born to play. She is fantastic in all the Underworld films. This film is the second of a series of four. She does not really appear in the third film "Rise of the Lycans, as Rhona Mitra stars in that. Much of this second film deals with the romantic relationship with the hybrid Michael Corbin. This film has much more action and higher production values that the first of the Underworld series. Kate's husband, Len Wiseman was heavily involved in all the Underworld film series. Kate plays Selene to the bone. I will never tire of watching her kick ass in black latex and boots. As part of the plot of this film, she samples the blood of the dying Vampire Elder Alexander Corvinas, (played by Sir Derek Jacoby). This makes her a Super Vampire, an invulnerable daywalker. She is great firing whole clips from machine guns without blinking. She rarely runs out of bullets. She can handle any weapon, including swords and axes. I also highly recommend the fourth in the series, Underworld: Awakening. The film was made about 10 years later than Evolution. Kate is still in great form. She jumps off 10 story buildings and is bulletproof. The end implies that a fifth film will be made. I hope so.

Hi, "Underworld Evolution" A well done Film showing the Origion of the Vampires & the Lycan's how they Became. Nice to see {Amelia} played by Zita Gorog in this one she should have had more film time because she is Hot ! {Sonja} Kate Beckinsale in that nice tight leather {Victor} played by Bill Nighgy And {Marcus} Tony Curran. Mr. Curran is the next Hot Actor meaning he can perform. This film has a Great Cast and story, you will want this Blue Ray for your Collection. I still hate that they Killed off Victor and Amelia, But then if they can go back for "Evolution" why not for how Victor and Amelia Becan, Hey a new film.

Underworld is one of 3 film franchises i watch for comfort. This is definitely a favorite of mine. What a fantastic sequel.

Why can't they all just get along? The Vampires and Werewolves "at each others throats" for so many generations instead of letting bygones be bygones and teaming up to feed on us mere mortals...I mean...how silly. Well I guess it's a good thing for us though, no? Because without the war there would be no action-packed series thrillers called Underworld and Underworld Evolution. There's suspense, tons of action and a great storyline from the start of the original right through Evolution...which is a bit of a prequel/sequel. All of the key characters are back in Evolution played by the same actors...with the same director. That's the first ingredient to a successful sequel. The main addition is the Vampire Marcus that we saw coming to life briefly at the end of the original. The effects in the original and in Evolution are great. Marcus' flying in Evolution looks a bit more magical than he is actually using his wings, but otherwise the movie is visually spectacular. The series documents a war that has been raging between the Vampires and Lycans for years all because one of the Vampire leaders didn't want his Vampire daughter marrying a Wolfman several centuries back. Flash back to the present and Kate Beckinsale is a Death Dealer/Vampire that hunts the last of the Lycan. Scott Speedman was a mortal in the original that supposedly held the key to end the war, but he unfortunately took some licks (and a couple bites...key words: a couple) protecting that key. Now in Evolution let's just say that he's more like X-Men's Wolverine than mild mannered Michael Corvin. A rift between the Lycans and Death Dealing Vampires is borne in Evolution involving Viktor's brothers, Marcus and Willliam. Hence the saga continues with a sequel that thoroughly entertains. Both the original and Evolution come in a brilliant HD transfer with terrific 5.1 sound. All in all a very well done story that pays to watch from the beginning. Yes, Evolution stands alone. But this is one movie that I believe was not intended for seeing prior to the original. So if you haven't already, you'll want to purchase both Underworld and Underworld Evolution and watch them in order. Definitely worth the purchase getting both movies into your collection. They are keepers for those into the genre. This release is for Blu-Ray DVD players. If you don't have a Blu-Ray DVD player and you've stumbled in here by accident try seaching Amazon again for the standard player release; Blu-Ray won't play on standard DVD players.

I did some research on Amazon over these blueray movies for the complete series on underworld. I found a lot of people saying that it was better to just buy the movies individually, they were right. Get each one by itself and enjoy.

Was happy to receive this at a great amazon price & complete my Blu-Ray collection on this trilogy! The cast played it well in this movie & all the action & background was captured awesomely on Blu-Ray. I felt the storyline was stronger (as it usually is on a sequel). Would recommend to anyone who fancies a Vamp' movie & Action Thriller. I still remain Vampire vs. Lycan. You?

This Underworld is THE must own out of the set of three! Kate Beckinsale is at her all time smokingest hottest! Scott Speedman's Hybrid is superb! And well Marcus' character is everything you want from a vilan! Action is incredible a perfect run time movie. You never sit there and say how much more could they do here, wondering when it'll end. Loved every second! Since I purchased have watched probably min. 5 times! A+++++

I love the movie! But I was disappointed I couldn't get a digital copy of this movie at the time of purchase. I bought this DVD as a bundle set through amazon, I was able to download the digital copies of the other movies of the Underworld bundle.I wish they would approve the downloading of this movie as well.
