Or how many Cat5 cables can run through it?** A: this is very small - barely holds the light cable, i tried to secure by pushing cable in and one of them broke. it will not hold cat5 cable. i used to hold Christmas wrapping ribbons - created a loop at each corner. I recommend the larger hooks for holding Christmas lights etc. as far as cat5 cables, i would look for completely different options. **Q: will these work on the ceiling?** A: Command Decorating Clips will work when hanging from the ceiling.
