Playadito yerba mate is a friendly and easygoing Argentine yerba mate with a soft, light, and malty disposition. Go down Tranquility Lane and savor the delicate sweet and floral notes, supported by nutty and earthy undertones. Adios bitterness! Hello suave! What is yerba mate tea? Yerba Mate (pronounced YER-bah MAH-tay) is a type of holly plant native to Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil. Drunk for thousands of years by the native Guaraní tribe of the Paraná, the plant has been revered for its ability to naturally stimulate the mind and body. With a significantly higher antioxidant capacity than of green tea, it has more healing power and nutrition than any other plant on the Earth. Mate contains a unique combination of caffeine (in coffee), theophylline (in tea), and theobromine (in chocolate) which is responsible for refreshing your mind, uplifting your mood, and remaining alert without any jitters or crashes. There’s no other herb like yerba mate. How to prepare yerba mate tea with your gourd and bombilla? 1. Fill gourd with 3/4s yerba mate tea. 2. Push yerba mate to one side of the gourd with a spoon on your bombilla, creating a mountain of mate on one side. 3. Add room temperature or cold water to this open space and allow to sit for 30 seconds. 4. Insert your bombilla to the side you poured the water, then begin sipping. 5. Proceed with adding hot (not exceeding 165ºF) or cold water and enjoy until the mate becomes tasteless. Son dos paquetes de 1 kilo?** A: Siii son dos paquetes de un kilo !!!! Es muy rica esta Yerba!! **Q: how much tea should be used to brew an 8 oz cup. the package says 50 grams per 16.9 oz. but that can't be right. is this tea really that weak?** A: I used a French press. In it I put 2 tablespoons of tea with about 16 oz. of water. Of course how long you let it sit makes a difference but in my case it steeped for about 4 minutes and then pushed the plunger down. It was actually a little strong for my taste but close to just right. **Q: What are the ingredients besides the yerba mate? one reviewer mentioned sugar. do you add additional caffeine from green tea or other sources?** A: This item - only pure Yerba Mate; this mix of the Yerba Mate includes 'leaf stems' (con palo). There is no added sugar, nor sugar to speak of in leaf and stem and there is no reason to add caffeine. The caffeine content is less than coffee and more like tea, about 40mg/8oz infusion (of course caffeine content for non-decaffeinated infusions (Mate or Teas) depends on brewing time, leaf type, and leaf preparation (e.g., roasting, decaffeinating, etc.) similar to how different coffee beans, grinds, and brewing vary the caffeine in coffee. Still, in general, a cup of Yerba Mate ranks between coffees and teas in caffeine. **Q: Is this a unsmoked variety of Yerba Mate?** A: It is yerba mate, regular yerba mate ## Frequently Bought Together - Circle of Drink - Playadito Yerba Mate Tea - 3KG - 6.6 LBS - Husfunov 8oz Yerba Mate Cup, 304 Stainless Steel Double-Wall Mate Cup, Heat Insulation Yerba Mate Gourd, Tea Cup Set Includes Cleaning Brush & 2 Bombillas (Black) - Yerba Mate CRUZ DE MALTA 2.2 lb / 1kg | USA Specific Packaging | Traditional Argentina Brew Gluten-Free | Large Leaf Low Dust Yerba Mate --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.at/products/168752808-yerba-mate-tea-3kg-6-6lbs](https://www.desertcart.at/products/168752808-yerba-mate-tea-3kg-6-6lbs) --- *Product available on Desertcart Austria* *Store origin: AT* *Last updated: 2026-11-07*
