The tip is made of a special ceramic and I don't know how it will react to the WD-40. Personally, I wouldn't want to clean it with a chemical like that is it will make it stink. Plus, the WD-40 may leave a residue that will impair the top's ability to spin. I think I'd rather just use soap and water and dry it carefully. **Q: Why is it so expensive?** A: You are paying for the precision’s of the Top and I think this one has a stone that it spins on **Q: Will it spin counter clockwise?** A: If you will spin it counter clockwise.
