I did notice that the case was comfortable to use though. I needed to use a case until the rest of my cases arrived from Amazon, and this case was much more comfortable then the Ionic Bella and Verus Damda Slide so I used this Lific case in the meantime. At this point I gave up on a case that would hold bank cards and was looking forward to a smaller sleeker case. Every time I received a new case in the mail from Amazon I expected that I would like the new case better than the Lific - every time I was surprised that I didn't. After trying all of the cases, I ultimately settled on staying with the Lific case and that is the one I am using going forward. If I change to a new case I will update this review. What I ended up really liking about the Lific case was that it was not slippery and the Note 5 was actually easier to hold with the case on. The sides of the back of the Lific case are heavily rounded to make grip much easier. While the from of the Lific case is wider than the Note 5, the back of the case is actually narrower than the phone because of the curved edges and the depth of the case. I found out that the most important part of the case for grip purposes are the back edges. When I grip the Lific case I have a better grip than every other case I tried and even better than the Note 5 without a case. I initially wanted a case that felt like the Lific case but that was thinner; I think what I figured out though is that the reason the Lific case is so comfortable is because it is thicker and therefore the back sides of the case can curve so much.Here are my reviews for the other cases that I tried. Some of them came close to the Lific, but none of them matched it across the board. There were a few distinct issues that torpedoed some of the cases and I really wish that other reviewers had noted these before I tried these all out. Hopefully my review will help others at least know what they are getting.I next tried two "slim" cases from Ringke: ( Galaxy Note 5 Case, Ringke SLIM  ***Essential Ultra Thin***[FREE Bonus HD Screen Protector Included][Black] Perfect Fit & Ultra Slim Curved Edge Protection, Scratch-Resistant Dual Coating Slim Hard Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 ) and (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010R8CMAA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00). These are basically the same case but one is black and the other is clear. The clear case looked cheap to me but it had a much better grip than the black case. I really liked the look of the black case, but it was way too slippery and I could not get a real grip. Both of the case also had the following problems that I could not get past: there is a notch in all of the corners that gets stuck on your clothes when you put the phone in your pocket; there are only cutouts for the side buttons so it is harder and less natural to press them; and the case is so slim that it doesn't cover the screen protector when you place the phone face down. I also did not feel that these cases would actually provide much protection in the case of a fall. I realized from these cases that slim was not the be-all end-all.I then tried the Verus High Pro Shield ( Galaxy Note 5 Case, Verus [High Pro Shield][Steel Silver] - [Drop Protection][Heavy Duty][Minimalistic][Slim Fit] - For Samsung Note 5 N920 Devices ) and the Spigen Neo Hybrid Carbon Case ( Galaxy Note 5 Case, Spigen [Metallized Buttons] Neo Hybrid Carbon Case for Galaxy Note 5 - Metal Slate (SGP11690) ). These two cases were very similar; they were both a case that you fit the phone to and then a piece of trim that you forced onto the outside of the case to keep it in place. Both of these cases were very attractive and I wanted them to work. The contrasting trim was nice and the button covers were a nice touch. Unfortunately, both of these cases were too slippery and I could not get a good grip. I was also concerned that the hard plastic side trim would crack if I dropped the phone. If I had to choose from these two cases I would probably choose the Spigen Carbon case since the button were nicer.I then tried the Spigen Rugged Capsule ( Galaxy Note 5 Case, Spigen® [Rugged Armor] Resilient [Black] Ultimate protection and rugged design with matte finish for Galaxy Note 5 (2015) - Black (SGP11683) ). I really liked this case. The only problem was that the case was too slippery. If I was going to use a minimal case, this would be it. If I find a way to add grip to the back edge of the case I might still consider this one in the future as an alternative. I would say that this was my second favorite case.I then tried the Spigen Slim Armor ( Galaxy Note 5 Case, Spigen [AIR CUSHION] Slim Armor Case for Galaxy Note 5 - Metal Slate (SGP11710) ). I as very excited for this case and I thought that this would be the one ... and it almost was. The case had a similar texture to the Lific case; while it was not as grippy as the Lific case, it was not too slippery that I felt like it could fly out of my hand at any moment. Most importantly, the case had rounded back sides that made it very comfortable in my hand (though not as comfortable as the Lific case). The real problem with this case was the side buttons which are completely flush with the case without any way of feeling the buttons without looking at them. This meant that I could not press a button without looking at the button first to see where it was. This was not as much of a problem on the right side since there is just a single button for the power, but it was a real problem on the left side for the volume buttons. Also, the kickstand on the back seemed cheap and I expect that it would break sooner rather than later.Finally I tried the Otterbox Symmetry ( OtterBox Symmetry Cell Phone Case for Samsung Galaxy Note5 - Retail Packaging - Black - ). This was the most expensive case that I bought at $50. The case is molded hard plastic and just feels cheap. I guess it is safe enough, though I wonder whether the hard plastic would absorb as much impact as the other soft plastic cases. The case is a bit slippery and feels big in my hand. I don't have really any major bad things to say about this case except that it just felt cheap; I also don't really have any major good things to say about the case either. I guess this case seemed fine, would do an acceptable job of protecting your phone, and is not uncomfortable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid, but watch your pinky... *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2015* Just got this today so as far as protection goes time will tell. I did drop the phone not 10 minutes after equipping the case. Phone is safe, so that's a good sign.The case is very sleek and attractive as far as looks go. The trim and lines on the back make it pretty stylish. The rest of the case has a bit of a matte look. The case is pretty slim, which is much different from the Otterbox cases I've opted for in the past. Doesn't add a lot of bulk.The protective features for the camera and screen are sufficient. Beveled edges around the screen and the camera on the back are plenty deep to lay the phone down. The edge around the screen doesn't seem to interfere with the touch screen when using your finger or stylus along the edge of the screen.While the openings on the bottom allow for easy access to the stylus, charging port, and headphone jack, the edge around the stylus opening is a bit sharp. I let the phone rest on my pinky finger with the phone resting on my pinky right where the stylus is. I've already noticed that this causes some discomfort after awhile, including while I'm tapping out this review. It seems as though that corner could have been rounded off a bit more to avoid the edge digging into the user's finger.Another issue I had is that despite this being a flexible, rubbery looking case, it offers no grip. It slides around on a table as if it were slick plastic. If you prefer a smooth feel it's great. If you're looking for any degree of grip, I can't recommend this case.I really like this case for what I paid though. I may opt to spend more on something that better suits my preferences later, but this is a solid case for what I paid. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great slim case *by D***S on Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2016* I'm coming from this case  URBAN ARMOR GEAR Cell Phone Case for Galaxy Note 5 - Grey , and probably would have kept that case on forever if I didn't buy this  Car Mount, Spigen® [Air Vent Magnetic] Car Mount Holder [Quad Neodymium Core] Car Mount Phone Holder for Galaxy S7 S6 Edge Note 5 4 LG G5 G4 iPhone 6 6S SE Plus Nexus 5x 6P More - Black (SGP11583) . The mount held the phone but if I didn't get it directly on the magnet my phone would fall off if I hit a bump in the road. The reason being was the way the back was on the UAG case made it so it was harder for the magnet to hold it on. When I put my phone on the mount with this case on I could actually feel the magnet pulling.It was between this, a Verus case, and a ULAK case I believe. I went with the Spigen mostly because of the carbon fiber look toward the bottom and top of the case. When I pulled it out of the box I got a little bummed because it felt like hard plastic at first, once I got it out of the plastic bag it felt right. Still a bit stiff but definitely flexible. The fit is MUCH slimmer than the UAG case, it almost feels like a new phone. The front and rear are raised a bit so you don't have to worry about your screen or camera hitting the desk or table or whatever you put it on. I would 100% recommend this case for whatever phone you have.
