Review: Works with Milwaukee with a modification - I was able to use this on my Milwaukee D handle router with a little modification. I had to buy a 1/4” steel rod, cut it down and use it on the inside set screw holes. It works well. The skid base does interfere with the skid plates on the guide, but I am able to take the skid plates off and use it that way if I need to cut close to the blade. Adding a slight offset to the rods will fix this clearance issue. Overall I like this jig. I’ve used the centering pin by taping it down to the material. The notches in the pin plate are handy for getting it exactly where I need it at. I do wish the tolerance of the pin and the hole were tighter, there’s a little much slack for my liking. It is well built, but using the 1/4” rod isn’t as strong as the 3/8 that came with it. That isn’t an issue with this though, that’s a Milwaukee issue for designing their router for smaller rods. Review: 24 month review - It's been about two years that I've owned those contraption LOL....it definitely does a lot. The edge guide is real handy, be mindful of adjusting to black plastic "shoes" as far away from center as you can. That gives more riding surface. I own a Bosch dust extractor so it hooks right up, so that was nice. And it definitely helps but in my experience you always end up sweeping up some sawdust. I'm also running the Bosch 1617 series router, again this mates up no issues. The mirco adjust is cool although I can remember which way I'm adjusting so maybe it's not as convenient or maybe I should write on my jig with a sharpie!! It works really well for a circle router guide too. I just recently did an address sign for our house and once I found the little clear center pin every went really smooth. Take light passes, if you're in a hurry wait to work on your project later when you can pay attention. I would like to fit 2 of the edge guides on the same rods to sandwich a narrow piece of stock between to create a mortise.** A: While that is a really heavy , overkill of a mortise system, it can be done. You will want 8mm diameter rods. The "Home Depot" ⅜" rods that were suggested, will work, but there will be play, and they will flex compared to an 8mm hardened linear rod. You can get 2 if them, to varying lengths (whatever you desire) for pretty low cost on Amazon. I use them for all sorts of aspects in the 1617, and MR23. **Q: Will this work with MRC23EVSK ?** A: Whoa! Edward B. Blackman puts the "tired" into retired. Again. Nice work. **Q: I'm wondering if this will work on a makita rp2301fc** A: It won’t work with my Bosch PAF 1200 AE, I’m disappointed and sending it back. The rod diameter and spacing is different. A bit more detail in the specs would be helpful. I think I’ll but the M.power one instead. **Q: When cutting arcs and circles, a pivot plate is used. from what material is the pivot plate made? is there any means, other than tape, to secure it?** A: Double sided tape is the best way to secure the plate. When setting up for a set of cuts for loose mortises The thin metal of my 1617EVS Router's Plunge Base (Bosch Part No. RA1166) cracked, causing there to be a bit of play in the tension. More of a review of the plunge base's poor casting quality rather than the edge guide. Just a "user beware" caution. Still a well thought out accessory. It is often said there is always a right tool for the job. In this case, this is a right tool for many jobs, from cutting circles to routing along an edge. I picked this up for carving out some loose mortises on a furniture project I built and found it worked perfect for the job at hand and even served me well with some rabbeting work I had to knock out without a dedicated bit. I did have some issues balancing the router (a large 1617EVS) on some of my 3/4" stock however, as the edge guide stands proud of the stock by about a quarter of an inch. Not a deal breaker, but something to note if you are going to clamp your workpiece to the bench. If the stock isn't thick enough you'll have to overhang your bench or use supports to lift the workpiece up, so that is something to note. All in all, I really liked the piece for the job it does very very well. It is a great addition to the shop.
