I followed the directions with approximate temperature, amount of vinegar, and time, and the results were fantastic! I stirred gently every 3-5 min because I didn't want to damage the silk, and it still came out perfectly even. I then took it out and dyed two other shirts that were cotton (so I just added some salt, left in the vinegar) and they came out great also! I think I could've just kept on dying anything else afterwards with that solution if I had wanted to. Just remove the dyed garment and put in the next one. I have a LOT of clothes I want to dye black, so maybe I'd only need one bottle to do all of them. On my off-white pillowcase, it came out a darker brown than the packaging color, almost dark chocolate but keeping that warm rich brown. If I took it out earlier, it'd probably be the color on the bottle - it's nice to be able to customize the shade. The only thing that was a bit of a hassle was rinsing out the dye until the water ran clear. That took... awhile. But so worth it!
