The open close mechanism works smoothly even after 2 years. The handle material is not holding up well though. It also does a great job keeping my backpack dry as the bag is entirely under the umbrella so rain doesn't drip down the edges of the umbrella onto the bag. It hits so many criteria of mine - * fits in a bag but opens up to a full size umbrella (no tiny compact umbrella that barely covers your head) - photo next to sunglasses for scale of when it’s folded * offers an easy one hand open and close (because you don’t always have your hands free) — see my video of how quick and easy it closes with a push of a button * durable but lightweight * not super expensive.
