Before installing, you must turn off your phone, and please don't bend the cable in a wrong way. Since each screws are not identical, please remember each screw's location and not to put them at the wrong places in order to avoid screen damage. Do not apply pressure to the corners of the screen panel, or violently force the screen into the back case. Such behaviors could easily damage the screen. If problems occurs, such as unable to turn on, touch insensitive, flashing, lines on screen etc, please follow below steps Please check the LCD to make sure the flex cables are in good condition and there are no debris on the connectors. Disconnect and reconnect the flex cables from the motherboard side. Then Reboot: Hold buttons (Home, Up volume, and Power button) until the phone switch down and then switch up again. It "works", and install went smooth and everything needed is included, however there is a few issues. The tools included are medicore at best. I stripped the first pentalobe screwdriver and rendered it completely unusable with the first attempt at removing the apple screws on the bottom of the phone. Multiple attempts to file it down a tad bit to bite the screw didnt work. Luckily an IT friend had an assorted screwdriver set that had what I needed and were far superior to the soft metal ones included with the kit. I continued on with the better tools. Next, the screens dark colors are really off - especially the darks on low brightness. Blacks are completely uneven and turn to different/various shades of grey when it should be solid. If youre looking at a solid black background - it will be a huge spectrum of various grey shades instead of a solid black. This is really noticable between lowest brightness to about 20% or in the dark. Bright colors also bleed a shadow effect on black backgrounds. Screen response isnt quite 100%. Theres some small issues with certain touches not being responsive. Also, it sometimes registers touches to the screen, when its not being touched. I notice my camera sometimes being activated when its sitting down, or some sort of multiple swipe attempts when its sitting up on the wireless charger. Phone screen also turns on and off randomly. Super annoying at night because it can be constant every few minutes. In my opinion, and I did some solid research on iphone xs max screens, youre better off buying an OEM refurbished oled screen and pay for a better tool kit that you can continue to use down the road. I took a chance at this kit.
