No fussing around in a drawer or on a shelf, it's mounted on the wall right next to the door. It's above the light switch, so you can find it in the dark. Solid construction, easy to mount, holds very well and seems durable....as long as you pull the flashlight out relatively straight vs torque it out in a clockwise motion. Don't know why you would pull it out that way, but I suspect people who break them might be doing that. Even then, they're cheap enough and handy enough I would just buy another one if I broke it. ---------- UPDATE ----------------------------------- Had these about a year now, pulled a flashlight out a number of different times. Still work great.
