## Description

Product Description Create a temporary green glowing effect on indoor craft and décor projects with Rust-Oleum Glow In The Dark Brush-On Paint. This is a light-activated luminous paint, which means the painted object must first absorb natural or artificial light before it will glow in darkness. After charging, the finish glows for up to 2 hours and gradually fades until it is exposed to light again. For the strongest glowing effect, apply the paint over a white or light-colored surface and use additional coats as needed. Suitable for interior wood, metal, plaster, masonry, and unglazed ceramic projects, including kids’ rooms, school projects, holiday decorations, signs, crafts, and decorative accents. Clean application tools with soap and water. From the Manufacturer Rust-Oleum Specialty Glow In The Dark glows for up to 2 hours. Apply to wood, metal, plaster, masonry or unglazed ceramic. Washes with soap and water. Great for kids rooms, school projects and holiday decor

Review: STIR, Don't Shake! - I use this to make miniature Ouija boards to sell on ebay. I used to use the spray can version but my local Home Depot doesn't sell it anymore (and the spray can version was a lot of work) Knowing that the spray can version worked well (after several coats) I opted for the paint brush on version. I got out my sheet of paper, taped it down, and started painting. I test the glow function after every coat, but after SIX coats this stuff still wasn't glowing, AT ALL. However I did notice two TINY sand sized specs of bright glow on my paper, so I was very confused. I hopped onto the reviews to see what others were saying (I didn't read them before purchasing like I usually do...) Anyway, SO MANY bad reviews. After reading through them I figured out my problem... STIR, DON'T SHAKE! I had been shaking the can like I would do with regular paint, if it looked good and mixed I thought it was good. I ended up using half a can before I figured out I should try stirring it... I got out a set of Panda Express chop sticks from my drawer and started to stir, immediately I felt the resistance at the bottom of the can, a hard clump of substance (the stuff that makes this glow). I stirred and stirred til it was smooth, THEN I put the lid on and shook the can for good measure... VOILA! It works now! (you still need a few coats tho, I will try using Rustoleum primer on my next batch like the can recommends to see if that helps) So STIR, DON'T SHAKE! (Well, shaking after you stir is obviously fine...)
Review: Not what is expected at all!!! Beware - I really hate giving a one star and a negative review because I have always trusted Rust Oleum products. But this one here was a waste of money and ruined my project. I bought this ahead of time to have when I started my project and opened it this weekend. I stirred and stirred the stuff was caked so bad on the bottom that it just came up in clumps and would not blend in what so ever. Once I thought it was blended in, I used it and no glow what so ever. I put it in the sun and uv light and NOTHING!!!! The tape was over the instructions. It dried fairly quick but was runny. Of course the time for return was up. The appearance was like any other can paint but it was not thick at all. The can was very small for the money. I never ever been disappointed by this brand until now. Have a ruined project and out of a lot of money.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: where can I buy glow in dark paint**
A: right here

**Q: Does anyone have a review of this product for INDOOR USE as it is intended rather than complaints about OUTDOOR USE that it is NOT intended for? Gah.**
A: I used it for a night time cityscape mural indoors about 5 years ago. I'd read several reviews at the time, so I looked the directions over carefully before using it. There are some tricks to getting it to work. First, you have to paint a bright color (like white or yellow) underneath it. I think I used at least 2-3 coats underneath as I was painting over a black surface. Then I probably used another 2-3 coats of this paint over the top of the white/yellow undercoat. The lighting in the rooms were old standard florescent bulbs, and it would take about 30min of lights on to get it to glow when you turned them off. I would guess the effect lasts about a third of the amount of time that you had the lights on, so if the light is on an hour, it fades out after 20 minutes. It is still working fine about 5 years later.

**Q: Can i use it on a brown box? After painting it white?**
A: HI,Thank you for your email. here is a bit of information that should help.Use over a white or light colored surface. Glow in the Dark is a luminous paint that creates a glowing effect 4-8 hours in the dark after being charged by natural or artificial light. It can be applied to wood, metal, drywall, & plastic. Periodic re-application may be needed for outdoor use. Use of a white Rust-Oleum Primer provides superior adhesion & is especially recommended for bare wood & metal. Dries to the touch in 15 minutes, to handle in 1-2 hours, & fully dry in 24 hours.

**Q: can i use on cement pots**
A: Thank you for your email. Yes this should be able to be used on the cement pots. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.I hope you have a great day!Thank you, AmandaCustomer Service

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Glow Paint
*by F***R on April 29, 2011*

I used this paint to make some nerf darts glow in the dark. My verdict: this paint works. It is not incredible, but for the price I could not pass it up. It does give off a decent glow that lasts quite a while, I have never timed it but it seems to last for around an hour at least. Before I play nerf, I just charge these up outside for a few hours and then as soon as it gets dark the battle begins! Cheaper than buying those glo darts that nerf makes and a lot better because it is actually paint and not stickers. I cant think of any practical application for this paint but it sure is good for random projects.
