After her husband is brutally killed she is alone with a crew of rough, tough seafarers. When the pirate leader takes an interest in her she has to use all her cunning and skills - not to mention her sexuality - to stay alive and take revenge for the murder of her husband. The film is a tense and brutal story of lust and treachery on the high seas. Set entirely on a huge ship carrying an illegal cargo of dangerous nitro-glycerine, the film racks up the tension to almost unbearable levels as cross and counter cross take place among the warring parties. When a powerful cyclone threatens to sink the ship and kill all aboard, the former enemies must collaborate to save themselves. Directed by Kostas Karagiannis, the crazed genius behind such films as THE WIFE KILLER and TANGO OF PERVERSION, DANGEROUS CARGO is exploitation cinema at it's finest. Now I know. And it's mine! A must see for Deborah Shelton "fans." And horny children of the 80s who remember who fondly from TV - invariably clad in a bikini or unitard. Dangerous Cargo is far from being a great film -though it delivers the goods. Truth in advertising, indeed! A Sex and violence fun fest. The entire movie is filmed on a huge ship. The action (and sexual) sequences are professional and competently staged, acted and photographed for a B movie. The acting is pretty good, and there is a lot of action. Fact is, this film could be seen primarily as erotica (albiet of the 'roughie' variety) and the only woman in the film is a young and incredibly foxy Deborah Shelton who apparently lived in Greece at the time and it was there where she made her first screen appearances. A fairly (but not too low) low budget flick with some studly Greek action stars none of whom ever made it big outside of Greece, as far as I know. Deborah Shelton is the only real (soon to be) star here and she quite the standout (she was a sexy staple of sexy 80s teevee, she also starred as the spied upon brunette, who falls victim to the Driller Killer in Brian DePalma's Body Double) of this nautically themed sleaze-fest. Yup, don't worry Deborah Shelton is constantly nude in this film - including some really saucy sex scenes with sailors and pirates - after all, a fella can only go for so long without female companionship while at sea. A Wages of Fear/Sorcerer/ Emanuelle knock-off of the highest caliber. Glad to see on bluray! Looks and sounds amazing - largely in Greek with English subtitles.
