I have found the components in this kit to be high quality and reliable. More importantly this kit is well thought out. No, it doesn't have 500 components, but most of the time kids don't need/use all those anyway. Every piece in this kit is used in the lessons and thoughtfully added because it serves a purpose. I loved the packaging because it keeps things organized and my kid loved it because it feels special and "official". Everything stays in one place when she's done using it so I'm not hunting down parts all the time :) . Even though I'm not the actual coder I have looked over the lessons and I'm impressed with how things are laid out in a sequence. It's lots of little experiments for her to try. Having read some of the other reviews and tried other coding/STEM kits, I disagree with some of the naysayers here. I have found the components in this kit to be high quality and reliable. More importantly this kit is well thought out. No, it doesn't have 500 components, but most of the time kids don't need/use all those anyway. Every piece in this kit is used in the lessons and thoughtfully added because it serves a purpose. My kid, currently 10, has been playing with coding for a couple years now. We had run out of quality products that would allow her to move forward without jumping into complicated text books, and we saw her losing interest with the more "kid" oriented coding stuff that she'd already mastered. This kit, though pricey, is worth the expense. It comes nicely packaged and provides a ton of education. My daughter's said "It's awesome! The only thing missing is that I can't just build code on my own. Oh, and I wish there were more lessons." To me, this has been a product that has helped reinvigorate her love of coding, while providing an appropriate bridge to more complex products. Now I just have to find that next step up.
