Review: works great - With my laptop's onboard network card, I was getting between 20Mbps and 30Mbps. Spectrum says I can get "Up To" 300Mbps. My router is an "ac1750" Dual Band. It says 450Mbps on 2.4GHz and 1300Mbps on the 5GHz side. What I Actually Get: (With this adapter) On the 2.4GHz side, I get 50Mbps. On the 5GHz side, I get 200Mbps Running across an Ethernet cable, I get 265Mbps. So, I am very happy with my purchase. I will probably buy another and ditch the cable all together. Although; That extra 50 to 60 Mbps I get running over the cable chops minutes off my download times. Decisions, Decisions; Yeah, I get another. For Windows, the downloaded file is in zip format. You have to unzip it into a temporary folder first. Then, run the Setup.exe application. After that, simply follow the onscreen instructions to finish the driver installation. For Mac, the downloaded file is also in zip format. However, you Mac OS may have already unzipped it for you. Simply, run the Installer package and follow the onscreen instructions to finish the installation. If it prompts it is from an "Unidentified developer", go to System Preference > Security and Privacy. You can either allow it to run from there or temporary change the Download Location to Anywhere and try again.Regardless of the OS(Operating System), make sure you have downloaded the "correct" driver for your OS, especially Mac users. Highly recommended for Windows 10 users. *by S***Y on April 29, 2017* Purchasing this adapter was the culmination of experiencing terrible network issues after Windows 10 came about. The failures came very slowly and had a subtlety that made me overlook the issue. I didn't even realize it was actually the adapter I had (a TP-LINK TL-WN722N) was the problem, instead I blamed it on my ISP (Comcast). After some digging around, I found out the root issue was that Windows 10 was causing interfacing issues with USB network adapters. After searching for network adapters that were not only nominally compatible with Windows 10 but also from customer experience, I went with this Edimax. I've been very happy with it ever since. Installation was a breeze, although you have to use the driver software on their website instead of the one provided in the package on disc. That's important.
