Would not work at all with a 2020 Intel Mac Mini. Tried all the the things on the internet, nothing worked. It's funny (and sad) because buying a wired controller should be the choice for people who don't want a convoluted connection process, but instead to just plug and play. Shouldn't be too hard. But yeah it doesn't work on Macs. **Q: using controller with steam games?** A: I bought 3 of these because I bought 3 copies of Flight Simulator X for Steam (one for me, one for my wife, and one for my son). I thought I would have to reprogram the buttons but it worked great out of the box. It's the exact same style controller as our Xbox 360 controllers. In fact I think these are a more comfortable fit.It worked a little funky at first but I realized that was my fault. I had to flip the switch on the back of the controller from X to D. I think that's from Xbox mode to Direct mode. After that it worked great and I was able play on Steam. **Q: How long is the length of the cable?** A: Its about 6 ft long. **Q: Is it compatible with windows 8?** A: Yes. It's still going strong. The stiff trigger buttons are an annoyance but even in racing games like Dirt 3 my fingers didn't get very sore. Last I checked (back in 2015) the F310 worked with the PS3 in Dinput mode but the home button didn't do anything. However, it didn't work on the Xbox 360 or Xbox One in either mode. Still, it's a solid controller given the tiny price tag that I would recommend, even if it's $7.50 more expensive now than when I bought it. ORIGINAL REVIEW I got this controller in December and I'm still using it 3 months later. It feels like a PS2/3 controller mixed with an Xbox 360 controller, making it a unique feel in the hand. The triggers are a bit stiffer than on the PS3 and X360 as well, which gives an impression that this is high quality. The shoulder and face buttons feel nice enough, and double taps are very much possible with them. The analog sticks also feel very nice and a bit stiff like the triggers. The D-pad isn't the best and although it feels tactile enough to please me, the fact you can push it all in the middle and the fact that it's fitted a bit loosely means that this wouldn't be a very good D-pad to use, though the Mode button switches the functions of the D-pad and the Left analog stick so it's not much of a problem. There's a switch on the back labeled X and D. When it's switched to X, it's recognized as an Xbox controller by Windows, and can be used on Xbox 360 and even the Xbone. When it's on D, it's recognized as an old-school USB PC controller by your computer. It also works in the PS3/4 in this mode, although the Playstation button doesn't work.In D mode, you can also use the Profiler software that you can download from the Logitech site to map key bindings to the controller for games life Half-Life 2 which don't support controllers.
