If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! It has the most compelling plot I have read in a very long time. I know how much work Ms. Corry must have put into writing this. It is most complex, but at the same time, it is easy to follow. It would make a fabulous movie. From the very beginning, it was full of "will she or won't she" that kept me on the edge of my chair. And it's full of twists and turns. Just when you think you have reached a particular denouement, the author gets the reader going again with another gripping development. Until Matthew Gordon, an old friend, returns.Prior books Blood Sisters (2017) 4 Stars and I Looked Away (2019) 3 Stars. I loved the stead pace of this book with the tension slowly rising. Interesting plot of how closely connected the main character Poppy was to her mother-in-law Betty. Liked how Betty's past was chronicled throughout the book. Betty hid things so well in her marriage, no one ever knew or suspected. Sad that Betty was never freed from her past.
