Review: SHAVING SHARP OUTTA THE BOX!!!! - OK. For all the whiners out there saying its "smaller" than they expected. Its actually BIGGER than stated in the description. 12" total length, 3 1/2" wide blade. The sheath is adequate, with a blade guard. Its a great weight for light to medium chopping. The handle is comfortable but thin. I have no trouble gripping it at all. Even better with gloves on. Its a perfect addition to my gear, giving my machete a break from chopping kindling, and giving me a hammer for my tent stakes. Upon receiving it I took it to the bathroom where the light is good, and proceeded to SHAVE a bald spot on my arm. YES, MINE IS SHAVING SHARP, right outta the box. The textured finish on the black portion of the blade and handle looks great. I am VERY SATISFIED with my purchase and have already recommended it to others. This is my 7th Mtech product, and they ALL have surpassed my expectations. Thanks for a great product and an outstanding value.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, but the Head is narrower than expected

The handle is a composite material that is strong and light, though in my opinion a 12 inch handle is a bit short for something you will be using all day. The head of this hatchet is extremely narrow - about an inch at the wide hammer side and it tapers down to the blade quite quickly - which makes in a bit difficult to use it for stripping bark off of a log or shaping the ends of a log to make posts. Other than that, it arrived extremely sharp and kept it's edge very well over a 10 day camp.
