The best environmentally friendly cotton swabs I've found on Amazon so far.
I rarely care enough to write reviews, especially on a small purchase like cotton buds, but these are really nice, AND they are the most environmentally friendly & biodegradable of an option as you can find. I used to buy my cotton swabs at Costco for years, but decided that it makes no sense to pollute the environment with hundreds and thousands of plastic sticks. I've ordered a few options online from different brands, and these BoonBoo brand one was by far my favorite. What caught my eye was how nice, clean, simple of a design the packaging has. Not all that important, but pleasant to put even on top of a shelf in a bathroom. Also, packaging is free of plastic and is made of recyclable material already. Props. Quality-wise, these swabs are funtastic: absolutely no trade-offs of them being bamboo over all other non-environmentally-friendly products - they are soft, sturdy, buds themselves are not huge so perfect for small-ish ears, very comfortable. What else do you need for a cotton swab, after all, ha? But it makes me feel good that aside of taking care of the hygiene, I know I'm not tossing more plastic out and polluting the environment. Bamboo is fully biodegradable and home compostable, by the way. Small item and seemingly insignificant, yes, yet an important household product and a grand environmentally-friendly idea. Happy I found these, worth a couple of bucks for sure. It's the little things that count.

Great product
Love these. I really did love the Q-tip brand, but was looking for an alternative and these are definitely the most similar.

A responsible product to clean ears
I like the packaging and the product as all are recyclable! Finally companies understand we have an interest in reducing plastic and other not decomposing and polluting product for life's sake! Bravo for such a good and responsible initiative. I hope many others will do the same, but also that law will change. The product is made from bamboo and it is sturdy. It is biodegradable and made with organic products. Some people complained about the cotton thickness, but I think it is the reasonable amount and it is enough to maintain ears clean...of course if you clean your ears once in a blue moon it is not going to be enough lol. The swabs are rigid, so go gently. 400 sticks at this price it is a good deal. The packaging is sober, but stylee, I like it.

Some sticks are bendy, but generally fine to good
I got these to replace the wooden cotton swabs I used to get. I was unable to find any that claimed real wood any more, so I settled for bamboo. Most of them are fine and only slightly less stiff than real wood, but there are a decent number (1 in 10? 1 in 20?) that are almost rubbery. To be fair, the old wood ones I got always had a few where the grain didn't run straight and would split, but not as many. The cotton seems slightly less generous than I would like, but it's definitely a reasonable amount, and it seems well adhered to the stick and doesn't have any tendency to unravel. Honestly, if I didn't have my old brand to compare too, I would be perfectly happy with these, and I'm not unhappy now.

Yes! My search is over.
Was always a fan of the wooden stick Qtips, and hadn't found a comparable quality bamboo option. Now I have. Boonboo clearly cares about their products. The cotton is tight and substantially. The sticks are strong and don't break easily like wood or lesser bamboo brands often do. Plus, they seem committed to being ecologically responsible, and the price point is excellent, especially given the quality. I can hardly wait to try some of their other bamboo products... I know these are just cotton swabs, but I'm very impressed. You can see the difference between the Boonboo and a mediocre competitor swabs side by side in the attached photo.

I'll never go back to other swabs
I like that it is from bamboo and ecological, but even more importantly, they just work better. So many times when using paper and cotton swabs,, the swabs bend. I use swabs, not only for the ears, but for cleaning hard to reach places where paper towels and sponges don't fit inside the crevices. Works great cleaning old vintage jewelry with a bit of polish on it. Because I bought so much vintage jewelry and items that people would use polish, but the polish would stick in the crevices and not come out. I had some very large brass animals that I got at a garage sale and the carving was so beautifully done, but was filled with old polish. These swabs took care of it, cause you can use a wee bit of polish, and then clean it out with a clean swab. Oh, and we also use them for our ears and our pets ears too.

Best swabs ever!
I just received these swabs, and I immediately opened them to give them a try. I went to work on my ears with a couple of these bad boys, and they live up to every bit of the hype. When they are described as being strong, it's almost an understatement. I live in a dry climate (and wear headphones every waking hour), so my ears can be a bit itchy at times. Using these to clean out my ears makes my eyes roll back in my head. As long as these uphold their current standard of quality, I'll never buy anything else. I never knew how wonderful a cotton swab could be. These things can improve your quality of life.

Just a better swab for most applications
I needed these for a dental problem. The typical cotton swab stems bend easily and do not allow sufficient control of placement. These, however, performed perfectly. Not only did the solid stem work better, but the cotton on the end stayed attached. The cotton balls fell off the end of the flexible stems. Unless we need flexible stems, I will always buy this alternative.

Very pleased with these as they are better than others I have used. Cotton is well wrapped and the sticks are perfect, strong and easy to grip.

Just what I was looking for!
I try to be very ecologically responsable, but I can't stop using cotton swabs. So I tried to use the "permanent" ones, the ones that are made out of rubber or something like that, and you're supposed to just clean and re use afterwards. They bend too much and I can't use them properly, and then it hit me: bamboo! There MUST be bamboo swabs that are eco friendly and compsotable! And there are. And these are just great. And they are very cheap, for 10 dollars I got a TON. Abolutely awesome.

Better than name brand Q-tips
It’s sturdy, they look cute, I feel like I’m never going to run out, they fit perfectly in my little glass jar and I love using them to touch up my makeup.

Good!
Really like the swabs. Glad they’re better for the environment. They are not as fluffy as namebrand but I’m not looking for fluf.
