From the manufacturer desertcart Basics PLA 3D Printer Filament Transform your creativity into something tangible with help from this 3D printer filament by desertcart Basics. The PLA filament works with a wide variety of common 3D printers, just double check the spool size to ensure compatibility. The filament is specially engineered to reduce jamming, and its spool includes a built-in gauge, which shows both the percentage of material remaining and the approximate length remaining. PLA Material One of the most commonly used 3D printer materials, PLA (Polylactic Acid) makes a great choice for a wide range of printing applications. The popular thermoplastic material is known for its lower melting temperature and ease of use (no heated bed required), plus it’s low-warp, odorless, and offers a glossy type finish for impressive final results. Care Instructions Return any unused filament back to its resealable bag for future use and to ensure secure, optimal containment. desertcart Basics Product desertcart Basics offers everyday items for your home, office, garden and more. With a selection that continues to grow, the desertcart Basics brand is set to become a part of your daily convenience for electronics products and lifestyle. Review: The Silk Copper is very very nice and reliable - Loving the Silk Copper, looks great when used in combination with Black Prints. Consistent, stable with a nozzle at 200c and the bed at 65c. Love the metallic sheen. Have been getting a bit of minor stringing at the start of a print, easily fixed by pausing, cleaning up and from then on it all great. I have been printing at Precision to get the best possible finish. It is exceptional value for money, and I used the Silk Silver and Silk Gold for Christmas decorations. Review: Fantastic filament. - Fantastic filament. I purchased the silver and it printed really well on my Ender 3 V3 SE and the prints (which are parts for Obi Wan's episode 1 and 2 lightsaber) have a fantastic finish. Would recommend and will be buying again.

Good filament, but under spec
I struggled with this one initially, until I discovered that the average diameter is more like 1.70mm rather than 1.75mm. It is, however *consistently* undersized so you can just crank up your flow rate to compensate. The actual extrusion is more consistent than other cheap brands I've tried. It seems more prone to stringing and oozing than other filaments, so don't print hot (I'm at 200C atm, might drop down further). Retraction may need adjusting. It is, as another user pointed out, prone to adhesion problems. My bed is fairly good for adhesion, so as long as I have enough squish it sticks. Small parts need a brim. But I can imagine this filament being a nightmare on glass compared to others. Colour wise, for single layers it just looks like a darkish translucent green, but after a few more layers it really brightens up, but also becomes more opaque (like most translucent filaments do due to refraction). A thick printed part with lots of infill and walls will look REALLY bright, practically fluorescent. This makes me wonder about the lightfastedness of the pigment...only time will tell. The final colour is on the more yellow side of the green hue spectrum. Note that you will be able to see infill with this filament, so if aesthetics are more important than strength, choose your infill pattern wisely. It seems surprisingly strong and prints surprisingly well for a budget filament. I will be ordering more Amazon Basics reels if they're all this good for the money. Far better than e.g. Geeetech PLA.

AMAZON AMAZING!
've been using the Amazon Basics PLA 3D Printer Filament for a few months now, and I have to say I'm quite pleased with it. The filament has a consistent diameter, which is great for avoiding clogs in my printer. I’ve tried a few different colors, and they all print nicely without significant issues. One thing I really appreciate is how easy it is to work with. It adheres well to the print bed, and I've had minimal warping or curling. The finished prints have a nice finish and the colors are vibrant, making my projects look good. The spool itself is also user-friendly; it unwinds smoothly without tangling, which is a huge plus when you're in the middle of a long print. For the price, it’s hard to beat this quality. Overall, I’d definitely recommend the Amazon Basics PLA filament to anyone looking for reliable and affordable 3D printing material.

This filament is a bit finicky but it gets the job done
It's a basic PLA. I probably won't purchase it again, but as I reach the end of the reel, I've almost got it figured out. The print quality is decent, but it doesn't stick well to the bed, tends to ooze, and I've had a high rate of failed prints. I don't print frequently, and constantly adjusting the settings didn't work for me. However, if you do a lot of printing, it might be worth considering because once the first layer sticks, the rest of the print goes smoothly. The main downside is that there are other PLAs that are more forgiving and just a bit better-behaved, and they're only a few pounds more. If I had stuck to the reels supplied by the printer manufacturer, I wouldn't have had to deal with printer calibration and adhesion issues. I've ended up throwing away half the reel. Creality Ender 5 S1: Print at 215℃, 75℃ bed temp on a textured plate, Max volumetric speed 13 mm3/s. Reduce bed temp after the first layer. Initial layer 0.2mm @ 60mm/s (slow), 1.15 bottom surface flow ratio (thick). Then 120-200mm/s for primary print speed. Lower initial bed temp and nozzle temps are possible (and look better), but the failure rate was higher. Lowering the nozzle temp to 205℃ after the first layer produces a slightly better-looking print, but interlayer bonding is not great.

Amazing value
While I haven't been 3D printing for long, it's literally opened up doors that I had previously never imagined possible. Pictured is one of my ribbon microphone tools (you can find these on Thingiverse as they are fully open source hardware). This particular tool corrugates the ribbon between two closely meshed gears. This was printed on a TronXY Pro 2 printer (similar to an Ender 3 but with fairly old, and buggy, Marlin software) and a stock 0.4mm nozzle. Despite that the prints are pretty much faultless. Bed adhesion (heated) was good and the filament performs well at a range of temperatures. This pearl lustre is pleasant and while this filament was surprisingly good for the price and produced mostly tools (I bought this instead of white by mistake) it should be excellent for decorative prints and lithophanes. What really surprised me was the addition of simple but thoughtful things that I hadn't imagined would come att his price: specifically a re-sealable bag and some moisture absorbent material in the reel! This is really neat because unless you've heard about the vacuum cleaner bag trick, it will allow you to store your PLA for months at a time when not in use and not end up as wetter than my washing when I left it out in the rain *(again). PLA isn't the worst offender for its hygroscopic properties (nylon takes that crown) but it is still prone to it, particularly in the summer months when air is holding more moisture.

Extra wide, won't fit an AMS or feed externally
I was looking for a filament that looked like brass, and the colour was brilliant. This is where the positives end. the spools on amazon basic filaments are extra wide, so won't fit in a Bambu labs AMS. It did fit my external spool holder, But after several attempts it was impossible to get it feed. I will be returning the filament and not buying the amazon range again.

Flawless so far!
Absolutely amazed at the performance of this PLA compared to the Creality own brand I had been using (as it came with my printer). This is the second plant pot I’m printing with my Ender 3 V3 SE, and there’s not even a hint of stringing, warping or demarcation lines or anything except a beautifully smooth print. I’ve even sped it up to 150% and it’s flawless. I’m using Pearl White but I intend to get some other colours in the range with high expectations. The only adjustment I made from the default settings was setting the bed temperature to 55C, as the temperature range of this PLA is lower than usual. Also worth noting it arrived shrink wrapped and boxed, wound neatly with no tangles.

Don't buy this better options out their. Very damp from factory.
TLDR as I had ALOT to say about this spool of ... Filament has terrible bed adhesion. Very damp from factory which is shocking for PLA. Filament strands stuck to each other and on respooling discovered it was tangled on the spool under every layer after a certain point. Buy direct from a budget brand works out better in the long run when buying 4+ spools a time. I haven't been 3D printing for long about half a year, but I have tried about 5 different brands of PLA and this was the one that made me want to throw my printer out the window. First few months of usage it was not good , I felt like I had to preform a ritual every time I printed with this as it is allergic to the print bed it won't stick if their is a dust mite between it and the plate, It strings like crazy and it made popping sounds constantly. Then after months of being in a vacuum bag the filament stuck together and would jam the print all the time see the video of me respooling it by hand as I didn't have this issue before and wasn't set up for it but by using the AMS unit to help respool it the sounds began. It sounded like I was peeling carpet and the filament broke kind of my fault for being a bit too rough with it but it was also tangled under it's layer beneath it for a while, It was very late and I was very sick of it. I would suggest buying any of the other budget brands like esun, Sunlu or deeply directly from their sites as if you wait to buy your filament in larger amounts, it's a lot cheaper in the long term and it actually arrives DRY! Imagine that one of the least hydroscopic, beginner friendly filaments out their and yet it was awful I've had wood PLA arrive dryer.
