They do all sorts of things with blocks, from making patterns to tracing, even to early concepts of fractions. Out of the six shapes here, all but two can combine to equal the large yellow. They stack, fit neatly, are not lightweight junk. A great set, and eventually if we don't pass this on, I could see this as the basis for some art projects. Thick, well made, sturdy, with the carrying case that makes it helpful. There are many different sizes, colors and shapes in the bucket so you are really getting a lot for the money. It also brings a little booklet with suggested activities to do. You can do creative designs, patterns and even geometry. It is fun and and has exceptional educational value. I have even used it to teach my children fraction parts. This is a must have for anyone teaching or reviewing math skills or if you simply want to be creative with designs and patterns.
