I'd recommend removing (scraping off) the thermal pad and just using a small amount of thermal paste (about 1/4 of a green pea). I've had no issues with the heatsink sliding off, even mounted vertically. **Q: how strong is the adhesive tape? with heat, will it stay for a long time?** A: I haven't had one fail yet. Taking them off one raspberry pi 3b+ I was worried it would damage the chip. So the adhesive is pretty strong. **Q: Does this heat sink work on google fiber multi-gig router sfp on 10g port? it is very hot to touch (fiber to 10g ethernet port)** A: A heat sink should work but I would make sure the case has proper air slow. Get all wires ried for proper. **Q: How hard is it to remove these if needed to?** A: Unsure. Shouldn't be too hard. Could tear it off pretty cleanly with fingers and use a solvent (isopropyl alcohol or acetone maybe) to squeaky clean the residual adhesive. It's not a super adhesive but fairly tacky.
