I returned it and bought a Optical Cables by CorningTM AOC-MMS4CVP010M20 ThunderboltTM Optical Cables, 10 m (33'), Black, which works perfectly.However, I'm 99% certain that the Sonnet cable and the Corning cable are identical products, made in the same factory - see photo. The Corning cable is not in the photo since it was connected to my equipment, but it looked completely identical to the Corning product. So, I'm guessing that they are the same, but I got unlucky with a defective Sonnet cable.
