They are much too soft, and that results in the sandpaper being torn or punctured very easily. Consequently my sandpaper costs went up dramatically. This felt pad solves all these problems. Very happy! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works for "Stick It" pad versions as a replacement *by J***E on February 5, 2020* I was debating if I should get the "Stick It" replacement pad as originally equipped OR if I could use this felt pad version on my old PC 330 Type 2 palm sander. The Porter Cable 846724 felt pad replacement works perfectly replacing the original foam "Stick It" part. I never liked using the self sticking sand paper - selection, availability and quality was not good - and used my sander with shop cut sand paper and the retention clips. The felt pad appears to be a lot sturdier and should last a lot longer than the foam "Stick It" OEM pad - the part is a Porter Cable part too.
