But it's finey itself as Chili and is totally acceptable on a chili dog and is probably fine for backed potatoes. Bean texture is fine making up around 40% of the volume, it's probably about 40% "meat", and the other 20% is sauce - as expected the chili blends most of the flavors together and I couldn't really disquingish between meat & bean - but as chuncks of chili they fine. I found the sauce thinkness appropriate (thick gravy) and muttled well with melted cheese. I agree with some other reviewers that some canned beef stew is nearly this thick, but unless your chili is thickened with velveta it's not going to get much thicker then this and be either edible or "chili". Homemade chili is rarely this thick and also better. So I don't see the point of this issue other than for chili-dogs, which this chili is fine for.
