I used to open a bottle of wine and I'd force myself to finish the whole bottle because I couldn't bear the thought of wasting great wine. Also, I'd fool myself into thinking hand pumps make a difference, they dont, it never tastes the same. The great thing about the Coravin is you can grab a glass (Coravin uses the phrase "access a glass'), go back weeks, months or years later and it will taste exactly the same. If you are someone who enjoys great wine and just wants a glass now and then or wants to sample different bottles in your collection, the Coravin is a must have, right up their with the cork screw. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the flow rate but I understand it would probably require using more Argon gas. Also, there is ongoing expense with the Coravin, After the intial purchase, it will cost you about $0.60 to pour a glass of wine with the Coravin.
