My tree loved it and grew a bunch, but the wet ground resulted in it being blown over with every storm that would roll through. I tried various methods of staking the tree with little success. Once I bought this I've had no problems with the tree. It does a great job of supporting the tree without limiting growth. 5 stars! I was previously using wooden stakes and green garden tape but 2x the wooden stakes broke during wind storms here. This is a much better solution! Only downfall is the cheap rubber bands ... Seems well made. Instructions are clear and simple. After driving my stake into the ground, the top of it had become deformed from hammering on it. This made getting the Tree Mate-O on rather difficult. I was cursing the product at the time, but the fault is probably in the stake I used. It was old and probably weak from laying under a shed for years. Probably would have been better if driven in with rubber mallet or something other than a standard hammer too. Once on the stake and around the tree, the support is doing its job.
