The table tops have a two-tone effect using lighter and darker cherry but the legs are all dark cherry. The other reviewers expressed having received theirs scratched, so I was worried that I would uncover something that would disappoint. In my case, the contents were in excellent condition!It would have been a surprise to discover any damage as the shipper packaged the box extremely well, with stiff corner boards all the way around the box inside another box. The furniture individual pieces were each well covered with protective packaging and the hardware was placed in a location where it was not possible to scratch the finish no matter how the box was handled.The hardware included a small L-shaped Allen wrench which was adequate for assembling the unit, but I would have appreciated something which provided a bit more leverage. Keep in mind, you DO NOT want to over-tighten this sort of system assembly but if you have some arthritis, you may have some trouble with the smaller Allen wrench included. There were just enough bolts, washers and lock-washers for the job with 2 extra washers remaining. I thought that was a bit strange, that if there was a hardware overage, it should have been in the form of an extra bolt, washer and lock-washer, instead. In my case, it was a non-issue.Assembly was a snap, but it would have gone faster if I hadn't made an error with assembling the wrong legs on the wrong table. I uncovered all of the legs and they all looked identical, but I quickly learned that the 4 four coffee table legs are shorter than the 8 end table legs! DON'T DO THAT!I want to blame the instructions, but when I went back and looked, the dimensions are listed differently for the leg lengths and the pictures appear to look like the coffee table legs are shorter than the end tables. However, there are no unpacking instructions or assembly instructions to speak of. Assembly of this set is not rocket science, though! Place a lock-washer, then washer on a bolt and screw it in one of the prepared holes in the furniture to hold the legs in position. All of the bolt threads lined up exceptionally well except for 2 and all I had to do for those is rotate the leg slightly so the threads caught and then tighten the rest of the way using the long end of the Allen wrench.If I could, I would rate this a 4.5 because although the instructions could be better and I would have appreciated a better tool for assembly, what is included is adequate. So that's why I didn't give this review 5 stars. The set itself is gorgeous and looks MUCH nicer in my living room than it appears in the pictures. The quality is very good for the money. The furniture has weight to it and does not feel flimsy. I'm very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend it to a friend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Table Set--Can't Go Wrong *by N***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2016* So very pretty! Look much more expensive than they were. Even with the warning on another review I messed up and put end table legs on coffee table. :( So make sure you don't do this! The actual top doesn't feel totally secure so I don't recommend lifting by holding table top. However, they are just what I needed and I would buy again.
