To be honest they are not as bad as many reviewer make them out to be. Maybe their expectations were too high. The stands are not rock solid sturdy, but they aren't flimsy either. If you squeeze the little rubber gasket extra tight around the legs the stands are perfect. They don't topple over. The legs don't come off. The stands work fine for an entire game play - about 4 - 6 hours.As a matter of fact, I liked them so much that after the first set of three came in I went back on Amazon and bought 5 more sets (one for each player). The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is that they really are a bit over priced.
