Permatex 5 Minute Gap Filling Epoxy is a versatile, easy-to-use, general purpose two-part adhesive and filler system. Sets in five minutes with no clamping needed. This clear epoxy fills gaps and will not shrink. Resistant to water and solvents with a permanent strength up to 3400 PSI. Temperature range -60°F to 180°F (-51°C to 82°C).

I don't know the chemistry behind it, but what happens is that you combine two different chemicals to form a gel that permanently adheres to whatever you use it on. I bought this product without knowing too much about it, so I'll share some knowledge. 1) You can re-cap the product and store it for future use. Clean the tip with a napkin and store it upright with the plunger side down. You have to press hard on the cap and hear a snap to ensure it has been properly capped. I'm not sure why other reviewers have this problem. 2) To use, break the seal, and push down on a double plunger (it is connected at the top). This ensures an equal amount of both chemicals are released from the tubes. 3) Mix the two products with the included tiny mixing stick into the tiny tray (which is the plastic packaging for this product. Smart design!) 4) You don't need an ton of epoxy to ensure a permanent hold. A light coating on one side is more than enough. 5) There is a heavy chemical smell, use it near an open window. 6) It dries clear
Review: Perfect Heavy Rearview-Mirror Epoxy! - I bought this to fix my mom’s Rearview-Mirror. Everything she tried didn’t hold very long. After reading through forums of similar issues, I was directed to try this epoxy. It tried to toughen the mirror tab and cleaned the surfaces with isopropanol. After I mixed the epoxy, I applied a consistent-layer on the surface and held the Mirror Tab in place for a few-seconds. It pushed-out around the edges which made a nice bead of epoxy that held the tab in-place. We have it a full 24-hrs to cure and it has been perfect ever-since. I strongly-recommend this as an alternative to other methods because it dries clear and forms a superior-bond.

This stuff works so great! I was so sad when the pearl on my gold ring fell off...I was so broke at the time and I knew I could not afford to take it in to a shop to get professionally fixed. So I did my research and found people had used this for a variety of things. I was skeptical at first, but decided to try it anyway. My order shipped quite quickly and instructions were easy to understand. I honestly only used very little glue on my pearl (so that it would not seep out on the sides and look ugly)...I held the pearl for a minute or two to ensure it stayed in place, then left it untouched overnight because I wanted to ensure it had time to dry. Next morning I checked and the pearl was completely glued on and my ring was back to normal...I cannot express how happy I was. From then on, it has not failed me. Great stuff. My only problem is storage. This stuff dries really fast and you have to make sure it gets stored perfectly and correctly and quickly. Otherwise clumps of glue are hard to remove...mine slowly closed the passage way over time...I guess it was my fault though but after reading this I hope you all don't make the same mistake!
