I was playing a track on Serato without connecting the controller and it played fine. I then changed the settings in Serato to play music through my laptop speakers. Next I connected the controller and the music played for about 3 seconds before cutting off. I was going crazy until I realized that the level switch for each deck was all the way down. Not the master volume or the up fader on each deck but the round level button on each deck was down. Why it played for 3 seconds with these levels down I do not know but that fixed my issue. **Q: Can u use this mixer without useing the software to the laptop??** A: Unfortunately no!
