I ordered them only by reading the reviews and then I looked up the company website and saw that they are family owned and operated and made in the great state of TEXAS. I received them today beautifully wrapped in a box with satin lining. the sheds actually look and feel better than i expected. they have a very comfortable handle but not heavy, the rich leather case is impressive and I like the easy but yet traditional locking clip at the base. The shears arrived when they were scheduled to, and looked very well constructed. My hands are rather large, so the oversized redwood handles give plenty of leverage when cutting. Unfortunately, after the first 45 days of use, the spring mechanism has ceased to function no matter how I adjust the tension nut.
