Although Dash will not accommodate regular slice, it certainly will accommodate a hamburger bun. When I was a kid, my friends mom used hamburger buns to make a buttery grilled cheese. Delicious! **Q: How do you clean it? Do the plates come out?** A: Clean up is super easy. Simply wipe it down with a papertowel after cooking is complete. The plates do not come off but in truth that isn't even necessary. **Q: Got as a gift. Does the nonstick contain teflon? I need specifics, if it does using it could kill my birds. What does the nonstick surface contain?** A: Unless a product is labeled specifically, you should assume any non-stick coating is PTFE-based which, as you apparently realize, can harm some birds if overheated. **Q: Could you make a waffle with this?** A: The one I have is a griddle so its a smooth surface. You can't make a waffle but you can make a pancake.
