## Description

The Graco AFFIX Highback Booster Seat with Latch System helps safely transport your big kid from 40 to 100 lb* and up to 57"" tall. It provides a secure connection to your vehicle seat with its one-hand front-adjust Latch system, making self-buckling easier for your independent child. While the purpose of the Latch** in the Affix Booster is to secure the booster to the vehicle seat while the booster is unoccupied and help facilitate independent buckling, you will secure your child in the booster seat with the vehicle lap/shoulder belt. The seat has an integrated cup holder and hideaway storage compartment to keep child's drinks and favorite things within arm's reach. This seat is Graco ProtectPlus Engineered to help protect your child in frontal, rear & rollover crashes. *To continue to meet industry standards, we have increased the weight minimum from 30 to 40 lb. **Since the Latch system only secures the booster seat to the vehicle in this application and is not used for installation, it may be used regardless of the weight of the child (up to the maximum weight recommendation of the seat).

Review: Latch system works great!!! - First off, the main reason I am writing this review is to defend the latch system. Prior to purchasing this seat I read several reviews dinging the latch system for only tightening fully on one side, leaving the other with a little slack. Since this was really the only negative I read i decided to purchase and see for myself. Just as I suspected there are 2 overlapping pulls on the front of the base. If you pull them individually they each tighten a latch. One tightens the left and one tightens the right. So...the seat is tightly tethered on both sides. I am assuming most people that are complaining are pulling the straps simultaneously since they are on top of each other. This is the best system. Other system Ive had to tight the latches from the back and then when wanting to unlatch loosening them from the back to get enough slack was a pain. All of this is simply done from the front system and a push of a button loosens them. Im not one to read instructions...I get anxious and just start putting things together. It was easy to assemble and figuring out the latch system on the fly was easy too. But one thing, if your like me and dont pull out the instructions right away, a small tip...the cup holder needs to be attached and it is stored under the base of the seat. I looked in the box for a bit and thought something was left out. But I found it. I purchased 2 other seats this week prior to settling on this one. I bought a Harmony and 2 days later returned it because the cup holders are right under the armrest. Made it impossible for my son to fit his taller sippy cups. A starbucks Grande water cup wouldnt fit either. I couldnt have that so I exchanged it for an evenflo Big Kid Advanced booster in Luca. that seat smelled like cat urine. We put it in the car and the next day the entire car smelled. Gone!! So third times a charm for sure. Super happy with this seat. Looks great, its comfortable, there is a cup holder for taller drinks, a storage cubby,doesnt smell and best of all..... an easy to use, secure latch system.
Review: Great Car seat - I was in market for a new car seat due to my daughters increasing age and her old car seat being cumbersome. I had always thought that the high back booster seats started at 4 years and 40 lbs. I was pleased to see this one starting at 3 years and 30 lbs. I read the reviews and did my research. The main negative points seemed to stem from only 1 latch and having a wiggle space of 5 inches without the seat belt attached. From that point of view I could understand that the car seat would be over priced for a latch system that does not seem to do its job. Despite this I decided to take a risk and buy the car seat (mostly because I was so tired of lugging the car seat we currently had lol). The product arrived promptly. It did not come in any extra packaging save its original box. Box was in relatively good condition. The product instructions were easy to understand and easy to set up. Size was just right for its intended purpose fitting well in a mid size sedan as not being too big or too small. The fabric was soft to the touch and my daughter quickly proclaimed it to be comfortable. The side impact safety indicators were a definite plus but did not overly wrap around my daughter. My daughter especially liked the cup holder and "secret" drawer she found on the car seat. I obviously did not have the heart to tell her it was designed that way. ^_^ As far as the latch system, I noticed right away there were 2 latches on the back. it has a push button release on the front to give the latches slack to easily attach the latches to the car. The pull strap on the front quickly and easily pulls the car seat snug to the seat. I did not find any appreciable give to the car seat on a wiggle test. The use of the belt buckle has its ups and downs. My daughter found it quite exciting to use the seat belt like mommy and daddy. However with the sides and the armrests designed the way they are it is next to impossible for her to buckle her self at the moment. I realize its not a big problem, but it is worth mentioning. All in all I found this seat to be easy to set up and install. My daughter is enjoying "growing up into a new seat" and the car seat looks a bit more stylish as car seats go. Other than my daughter being able to buckle herself in, the only negative thing I found was the back is unstable without a support surface. This is to say if you sat the seat on the ground with nothing behind it, and your child sat down AND leaned back into the chair, the chair easily gives way to reclining to a flat position. I realize this not its intended purpose. I realize that it is designed that way for ease to recline the chair and remove the high back when needing to. I even realize that in its intended purpose as a car seat, the seat gives it the support and there is no danger of the back reclining back. I only mention this because I was eager for my daughter to try the chair after setting it up and quickly had to catch the back of the seat before she fell back. I admit to being at fault, but I still deem it as a negative in my view lol.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What color is "pierce?"**
A: We ordered the pierce. There's no sheen on it so I wouldn't call it silver - it's gray, almost more of a taupe. No pinkish tinge, even though the pictures online seem to show that.

**Q: Does the childs head fall foward when sleeping**
A: Boosters sit the child more upright than their previous car seats which are tilted backward.  This would be like you falling asleep in your seat with the exception of the awesome sides on the headrest which comfortably support my son's head when he falls asleep in the car.  Just like in your own seat, you can tilt his seat back and the booster will tilt with it.  Otherwise the head could fall forward but my son always manages to seek one of the sides to rest his head as you or I would if we were dozing in the seat.  Hope that helps!

**Q: does the back come off, ie converting it into a "backless" booster?**
A: Yes it does come off so you can use it as a backless booster. Very easy to switch it too!

**Q: How easy or difficult it is to latch/unlatch? I am looking for flexibility to use seats in multiple cars. Thanks.**
A: Press your knee into the car's seat to put the latch in for any seat.  It make it a million times easier.  Learned this from a car seat installation technician.

First off, the main reason I am writing this review is to defend the latch system. Prior to purchasing this seat I read several reviews dinging the latch system for only tightening fully on one side, leaving the other with a little slack. Buscar un asiento para niños siempre es toda una odisea, si son muy baratos no brindan una protección adecuada, si son muy caros tienen cosas que no se utilizan, pero este, este se cuece aparte. La base tiene el tamaño ideal para no ser ni muy estorboso ni muy raquítico, tiene sistema latch, que al combinarlo con el sistema isofix del coche da como resultado que este se mantenga en su lugar, tiene también descansabrazos, un portavasos y un compartimento que abre y cierra para guardar cosas, la cabecera del respaldo puede hacerse hacia arriba para crecer con tu puchunguis y a los lados de esta tiene unas aberturas por donde pasas el cinturon de seguridad y le queda perfecto al niño o niña en cuestión sin lastimarle el cuello, además en rojo se ve de pelos, no aburrido como los otros colores que venden.
