I had never seen this before today and did not know what it was. I still don't know what it is. I followed the directions, screwed the two pins in, snapped off the tightening nuts, and was left with long jagged posts sticking out of the master link. I then wasted over an hour trying to flare these "rivet heads". Apparently you don't have to do that, because the instructions stop there, but I didn't know that and I don't trust a screw that's the same size as its hole to stay on a chain.
