Maintaining an optimal temperature for components prevents overheating ensures constant performance and extends their lifespan. The controller on the front of the cooling system features a smart thermostat trigger and fan speed control. The steel enclosure houses three dual-ball bearing blowers that pulls heat out of the component and exhausts out the rear. Its low-profile design enables the unit to fit in tight spaces. However, with this unit, the receiver will run cooler and may extend the life of the component. **Q: Top or rear? under or over receiver? custom enclosed cabinet with holes on the bottom and an s3 venting the top.** A: I purchased rear exhaust, mounted on top of pre/processor. I have passive Vent holes in bottom of cabinet for intake and 19” wide rear exhaust vent in back of cabinet in line with S8 **Q: Why don’t these units support remote control for receivers? It would be so nice when receiver powers up, Aircomm powers up. Thoughts?** A: My Aircom powers up when the receiver heats up enough to need cooling - similar to a thermostat opening up on an engine once the engine heats up. So there is no need for the user to intervene. Now some substance. After 20 minutes at -16 db level my Aircom turns on to level 2. After 2 hours the receiver is slightly warm. Crank the receiver to -4, now you are generating some heat and you may want to increase the Aircom level. **Q: Can the lights on the S8 be dimmed or turned off? I noticed the T8 may have that feature, please advise.** A: No you can't dim the lights but you can mute the brightness and color by covering them with thin plastic of any color you prefer. I cut a small piece just big enough to cover the lights off a bag I had thrown in the trash and used a small piece of transparent tape and if you trim it all right you can't even see it. You will have to experiment a little to find the right thickness and color but it's worth the effort.
